Luer Lock hubs

Luer Lock remains the universal standard for precision work. The machined stainless-steel fitting locks securely to any Luer-tip syringe, giving the surgeon manual, real-time control over negative pressure — important when working near delicate structures such as the marginal mandibular nerve or thin lower-eyelid skin. Because the system stays closed, Luer Lock is also the preferred connection for harvesting micro fat and nanofat, limiting contamination risk and protecting graft viability.

60cc Toomey hubs

For large-volume fat transfer and standard body contouring, the wide-bore Toomey hub friction-fits directly into a 60cc catheter-tip syringe or transfer adapter. Its wider internal channel allows adipose tissue to flow without the bottleneck smaller hubs can create, which matters during high-volume harvesting cases such as a Brazilian Butt Lift, where speed affects anaesthesia time and graft survival. The connection also supports quick instrument changes without breaking surgical rhythm.

Large aluminum handles

Aggressive debulking or dense fibrous tissue calls for more grip than a simple hub provides. Choosing diameter and length

Cannula dimension should follow the depth of the fat plane, skin thickness and desired surgical effect — sizing incorrectly risks surface irregularity, longer operative time or complications.

Diameter

Micro cannulas in the 2.0 to 2.5mm range suit delicate facial work — jowls, chin and neck — along with superficial feathering and micro-fat harvesting for facial rejuvenation. Standard body cannulas from 3.0 to 4.0mm are the workhorses of most Lipo 360 procedures, balancing efficient volume removal with a low risk of visible tracking. Large-bore cannulas of 5.0mm and above are reserved for deep-plane debulking on higher-BMI or lipodystrophy cases, typically followed by a smaller cannula for final contouring and smoothing.

Length

Short cannulas of 7 to 15cm suit facial, neck, axillary or knee work, giving maximum tip control near sensitive structures. Standard body lengths of 23 to 26cm cover most abdominal and flank procedures with good reach and shaft stiffness. Extended lengths of 30 to 32cm, available as a custom option, suit taller patients or long treatment zones such as the thigh or back, reducing the number of incision points needed — though a larger diameter is often paired with the longer shaft to maintain rigidity.

Port geometry and tip selection

Beyond hub and size, the arrangement of ports on the tip determines whether an instrument cuts, glides, harvests or disrupts tissue. Aggressive patterns use large, beveled, open ports to shear through fibrous septa and are suited to gynecomastia correction or revision cases with scar tissue. Gentler, multi-port patterns distribute vacuum pressure for high-viability fat harvesting, while hybrid designs balance cutting speed with a margin of safety. Matching the pattern to the tissue matters — a gentle harvesting cannula in fibrous tissue causes fatigue and incomplete removal, while an aggressive cutting cannula on a delicate area risks contour deformity.

Aggressive dissectors

Cobra and Keel Cobra cannulas carry two large, beveled ports that shear dense tissue on the backstroke, making them a common choice for male breast reduction and fibrous back fat; the Keel Cobra adds a structural guard across the port to reduce buttonholing risk. The Toledo single-port cannula uses a forked, V-shaped tip that wedges tissue planes apart and breaks fibrous bands, useful for establishing tunnels in tight spaces or releasing deep attachments in revision surgery.

General contouring workhorses

The Mercedes (three-port radial) and basket patterns arrange three ports around the tip for 360-degree suction without wrist rotation — less aggressive than a single-port tool but more efficient than a micro cannula, and a common choice for bulk reduction in the abdomen and hips. Spatula and spatulated safety cannulas use a flattened, blunt, single-port tip that glides through fat while pushing vessels and nerves aside, making them well suited to a final smoothing pass or to thin-coverage areas such as the inner thighs.

High-viability harvesters

Capistrano and Fuentes patterns use multiple rows of offset ports to maximize suction surface area for rapid, high-volume harvesting while distributing vacuum pressure to reduce shear stress on fat cells — a common choice for BBL procedures. The Candy Cane and Modern Spiral use a helical port arrangement for even suction and to avoid linear grooves at the donor site, suiting moderate-volume harvests for breast or facial grafting. The Harvest 4-Hole (Coleman-style) and Sattler cannulas use small, precision-drilled holes to sieve out uniform micro-fat lobules, ideal for injection into fine areas like the tear troughs, lips or hands while preserving the stromal vascular fraction for regenerative applications.
