A dense arrangement of multiple round ports along the shaft gives it a large total aperture area, so it functions as a high-flow harvester without the throughput limits of single- or triple-port designs.
Because suction is spread across many ports rather than concentrated at one or two openings, the shear force at any single port stays low. The round, polished ports are sized to protect fat lobules, producing a lipoaspirate that is comparatively rich in intact adipocytes and lower in oil and cellular debris — a factor associated with reduced risk of fat necrosis or calcification at the graft site.
The offset port pattern also makes the Capistrano effective for general debulking across larger surface areas such as the abdomen, flanks, and thighs, helping to avoid linear grooving and giving a smoother, feathered transition at the treated area’s borders.
The 60 cc Toomey hub is a common choice for BBL surgery, pairing directly with 60 cc catheter-tip syringes for rapid collection and transfer, while the aluminum handle suits power-assisted work on a vacuum pump and the Luer Lock hub supports a closed-syringe approach for smaller-volume or compartment-specific harvesting. This Capistrano Liposuction Cannula is available to Canadian surgical practices through EB MED CO.
