The Decker Micro Pituitary Rongeur from Wiggins Medical is purpose-built for work in narrow anatomical corridors. Its 6mm micro cup and low-profile jaw give the surgeon fine control over disc and soft tissue removal, which makes the instrument particularly valuable in microdiscectomy, paediatric spine cases and revision procedures where visibility is limited and over-dissection carries real risk.

Jaw configurations include straight, up-biting and down-biting patterns, with toothed versions available for a more secure hold on dense or fibrotic tissue. Four shaft lengths let the instrument be matched to the approach, patient anatomy and required depth of access.

Beyond spine surgery, the slim frame and responsive bite suit ENT applications — nasal, sinus and skull base work — where mucosal, neural and vascular structures must be protected. The rongeur performs equally well under the microscope or the endoscope.
