Wiggins Medical MIS Nerve Root Retractors are built to guard that structure while preserving the surgeon’s line of sight in narrow interlaminar corridors. The slim bayonet shaft sits off the visual axis, so neither the hand nor the instrument body blocks the view of the root during decompression or discectomy.
The blades are deliberately thin, spreading retraction force evenly across neural tissue rather than concentrating it, and the textured handles hold securely through long periods of sustained retraction without tiring the hand. Manufactured in Germany from premium stainless steel, the retractors withstand repeated autoclave cycles at 134°C (273°F) while keeping their edges and structural integrity.
Two angle patterns cover the common approaches: a down-angle style for standard MIS transforaminal and interlaminar discectomy, and an up-angle style for high-cervical and craniovertebral work. Typical applications include discectomy, foraminotomy, spinal decompression, multi-level procedures, and revisions.
Through EB MED CO, these MIS nerve root retractors are readily available to Canadian spine surgeons and their facilities.
