The narrow blades taper to a fine point, allowing tendons and soft tissue to be divided cleanly in tight anatomical spaces.
Each pair carries Ebner’s proprietary Micro Supercut serration on the blade edge. The micro-serrations lightly grip tissue as the cut is made, preventing slippage and delivering a controlled bite with less tissue trauma — a meaningful advantage in tendon release and dissection around delicate ocular structures. The curved pattern is often preferred where the anatomy itself curves, such as periocular work in strabismus surgery, while the straight pattern suits linear incisions and the release of tight fascial bands.
Made in Germany from surgical-grade stainless steel with a PVD-coated finish, the scissors resist corrosion and hold their edge through repeated sterilisation cycles. The balanced ring handles give steady tactile feedback and reduce fatigue during extended microsurgical work.
EB MED CO supplies Ebner tenotomy scissors to ophthalmic, plastic, and paediatric surgical teams across Canada.
